Congrats, you have managed to over simplify what is a fairly complicated process. Would you prefer if there was actually no game and just shoot outs. Therefore the goalies will be forced to stay in the nets and the players will keep control of pucks until they decide to shoot.

Yeah. I prefer to not overcomplicate things that are fairly simple. If the goal is to put something into something else then I think...do that.
