I'm the same way. I will NOT walk in somewhere alone. I'll sit in my car in the parking lot and wait for everyone else to get there, and walk in with them. I have to be dragged out of my house in the first place, and then I don't want to leave. I'm like that with phone calls, too. I don't want to do the first hello thing, but as soon as we're talking, I'm fine.

I hate going to new places and I hate being the first one to arrive and how do you know if the shrimp really came from a bay?

Beth, we should go everywhere together and then wait for Crate to get there.

Crate, I'm a marine biologist. I know.

You have some sort of portable prawn tester? Is there some reagent you carry around in your purse for just such emergenies? I can see it now, a terrible car collision and one of the survivors crawls from the wreckage - "Can anyone tell if these are bay shrimp? For the love of all the's holy, please tell me there is a marine biologist around!"

I love you guys!
:)

Oh, don't even get me started on NEW places. If I don't know the layout of the place, I am most certainly not walking in alone. I think that's a great idea. I guess that means I have to move to Boston. Is it required that I bring Nick? I'm kind of ready to dump him in the bay. Then he can mark the shrimp for us.

Beth: Nick is essential. I will have him in perfect working order right quick and he can fetch us stuff. I mean, we'll definately need a fetchin boy and Crate's far too valuable for that.

Crate: Dearest Crate, it's not a thing it's an innate sense of knowing. We marine biologists just know

Yes, Beth. Come to Boston. Nick is optional. Can you fit him in the overhead bin? If not, then leave him; that's my opinion.

Oomm - I should have guessed! It's some kind of weird ESP thing, huh? Do you have to take some kind of test before you begin your career? Like Jedi training or that weird hand-in-the-box test from Dune? Please tell me you have a gom jabar!

oomm - 2005-03-18 14:04:57
Crate are you then offering to do our fetching?

You do not have to take a test because other marine biologists know that you know.

I am not saying I do, I'm not saying I don't. I am saying anyone who's doing the fetchin better be quick or not stand too close.

Crate - 2005-03-18 14:16:37
I'm not very good at fetching, except I am awfully fetching in the outfit I'm wearing today, so maybe Nick should come. Can we fed-ex him?
-------------------------------
oomm - 2005-03-18 14:19:34
too expensive, but I'll bet we could get someone who's haulin a load of chickens or hogs or somethin to chuck him in the back of the truck.
